چکیده

This paper deals with the definition of a general approach to the modeling and control specification of Flexible Manufacturing Systems. The development and the analysis of complex FMS models can greatly benefit from the automatic synthesis of the complete models and the availability of a graphic tool to describe them in a concise way. The automatic synthesis helps the designer to succeed in the error-prone task of building complex Petri net models or Sequential Functional Charts, while the graphic representation makes easier to understand them. The paper puts together a trace-based formal specification method and a compositional Petri Nets approach with predefined building blocks, leading to a unified framework whose goals are to cope with the complexity of the FMSs behaviours and constraints. The problem of control specification is also considered introducing actions in the behaviour description so that the Sequential Functional Chart specification is also possible.

A rule-based evaluation of ladder logic diagram and timed petri nets for programmable logic controllers

This paper describes an evaluation through a case study by measuring a rule-based approach, which proposed for ladder logic diagrams and Petri nets. In the beginning, programmable logic controllers were widely designed by ladder logic diagrams. When complexity and functionality of manufacturing systems increases, developing their software is becoming more difficult. Thus, Petri nets as a high l...

Soccer Goalkeeper Task Modeling and Analysis by Petri Nets

In a robotic soccer team, goalkeeper is an important challenging role, which has different characteristics from the other teammates. This paper proposes a new learning-based behavior model for a soccer goalkeeper robot by using Petri nets. The model focuses on modeling and analyzing, both qualitatively and quantitatively, for the goalkeeper role so that we have a model-based knowledge of the ta...

Modeling of Continuous Systems Using Modified Petri Nets

Due to the changes which may occur in their parameters, systems are usually demonstrated by some subsystems for different conditions. This paper employs Modified Petri Nets (MPN) to model theses subsystems and makes it simple to analyze them. In this method, first, the continuous transfer function is converted to a discrete transfer function and then, by MPN, system is modeled and analyzed. All...

Formal Specification of Holonic Control System ADACOR Product Holon, using High-Level Petri Nets

Holonic manufacturing and multi-agent paradigms are suitable to support tbe actual challenges of flexible manufac turing systems, due to their decentralisation, modularity and autonomy features. The formal specification assumes a critical role in order to understand and synthesise those complex systems. The Petri Nets formalism is adequate to model and validate the dynamic behaviour, but presen...
